I've been going to King's Chef since I was kid, more than twenty, thirty years now (oof, where does the time go) -- I grew up walking distance from it and I would go regularly with my father. It was a ritual for us. Now I go alone, because hey that's life. God willing, maybe someday I'll be able to go with my son. This is very much a working-class joint. The food is good and the space is no-frills (although personally I prefer the natural, homey aesthetic to something like the McDonald's on the other side of the parking lot or even a "fancier" Chinese restaurant). Is there a certain shabbiness to the dining area? Yeah. But I've never seen it outright filthy the way the McDonald's across the street very often is. It's priced accordingly -- you're not paying for chic modern design. With that in mind, some of these reviews and photos are just bizarre. One reviewer complains that a delivery order was delivered in a re-used restaurant supply box.... buddy, welcome to New York, you should be grateful, that's the royal treatment when it comes to delivery. (I used to work in a hero shop in Brooklyn, often making deliveries, I speak from experience.) Ok I'm getting hungry so I'm heading over right now. Check them out sometime -- they're great after a hard day's work!

Ordered sweet and sour chicken with pork fried rice and hot and sour soup. Everything was delicious and nice sized portions. Order via Uber Eats, which left something to the imagination, ordered priority delivery and arrived in the regular delivery time frame. Not sure whose issue it was.

I truly had no expectation of anything above fine when ordering takeout from here, so I really was quite surprised. The main reason I chose this place was for the buy 1 get 1 options. The pork dumplings were huge and really quite nice. The dumpling itself was thick and well made. The chicken with broccoli combo plate was also pretty tasty. The portion of this was big enough easily for more than 1 meal. What really surprised me was how it was packaged, as it was in a perfectly shaped takeout container for this specific dish.

I came here with a friend on a whim, because I was craving Chinese takeout. Honestly it's okay, BUT YOU MUST TRY THE FRIED CHICKEN. It is a bit pricey, but very flavorful and worth it. It is right next to Popeye's but can stand up to a competition with them for their fried chicken wings!! We were very surprised with how good this chicken was. The rest of the food is okay-pretty basic. We tried the pork fried rice and the chicken lo-mein. I say "chicken" but I think they mistakingly gave me fish... it tasted, smelled and had the texture of fish. I'm a person that likes fish, but it was very mushy and unfavorable. Also the lo-mein was pretty bland. The place itself is very small and has limited seating, although we took it to go it looked pretty clean while we waited. I will definitely be ordering the fried chicken again!! But nothing else. I forgot to take pictures before eating, but I will next time!!

Friend said it's the best fried chicken wings. They were indeed very good. Crispy outside. Inside is juicy and tasty. Not salty at all. Good Flavor. Big size too! $9 for four wings. It sounds expensive but considering the flavor and the size, it's reasonable. We didn't try other items. But will for sure return to get more wings plus more!
